Growing up in a retail family (not to mention my basic nature) is where my service orientation came from. Sales & marketing were what I did for many years.
My first exposure to healing was when I took a Silva Mind Control class. Part of the course had to do with healing whereby you put your hand on where somebody was hurt and you repeated over and over and over again “gone-gone-gone”. I was interested in the healing, but the method was boring and I found the results to be less than inspiring. 11 years later, in 1987, I met people who told me about their friends who did energy work on race horses. I never met them, but just hearing about that and something ‘clicked’ for me and I began to do energy work. (I believe it’s an innate ability we have, but over hundreds of years society had gotten us away from it. I’ve noticed that the first thing a parent usually does when a child has been hurt is to reach out and touch the child.) Over now more than two decades, I’ve added things which enhance what’s taking place.
As a child, I was very creative. I got away from that as my artistic ability did not keep up with the visions of beautiful things I could see in my mind. Well into adulthood, I gingerly and reluctantly made some forays into creative expression with my hands. Over time, and I must say to my surprise, I’d actually make things that my discerning eye found pleasing. My current creative outlets include inventing, making jewelry & wooden items and altering recipes. Any time I spend creating is invariably more satisfying than time spent surfing the Web.
My approach with people is to be straightforward, humorous (yet serious about being of service) and dedicated to being a staunch guardian of your chosen intents. |
